Maree is the start of the Birdsville track which ends in Birdsville, QLD. The track leads through extremely dry, sandy area and more than one driver was found dead from lack of water at the roadside. The old Ghan railway can still be found and some engines and platforms remind of past glory. Now the local supermarket is the main attraction. One thing is funny - did You notice that all over Australia, even in the most god-forsaken place of the continent, you can buy a Magnum icecream?
