Ochre has a central role in the Aboriginal culture. It is used for body painting, cave painings and even traded all over the continent. Its colors range from the light brown yellow to bright red. Aboriginals dug up ochre for thousands of years forming large pits in the process. It is considered good style not to take a sample home.
