Victoria
Victoria is the second smallest Australian state with an area of only
227,000 km2, but about one third of all Australians live here. Of four
million inhabitants, almost three million live in the Melbourne area. The main
sources of income are one of the largest brown coal mines of the world,
oil, gas, and especially the car industry that employs about 40% of the
state's work force.
