The University

Established in 1964, La Trobe is now one of the largest and most prestigious universities in Australia. Extra-Curricular Activities

There are countless clubs, societies and sporting groups for students to join, as well facilities, such as a gymnasium, swimming pool, squash, tennis and basketball courts. The University also organises various affordable off-campus activities: you could take the opportunity to learn to surf, go snow skiing, attend a game of Aussie Rules Football, take a trip to the Outback, Phillip Island, or down the Great Ocean Road, or participate in our Friendship and Holiday Homestay programs.

University Services

La Trobe International Programs Office offers comprehensive pre-departure information, a free airport pick-up service, assistance with visa, health insurance and accommodation arrangements. The University provides extensive computer services and one of the most comprehensive educational libraries in Australia. All students have access to personal and academic support services, chaplains, a dentist, and a 24-hour medical hospital. There are a variety of on-campus amenities such as retail outlets, a weekly market, an optometrist, banks, post office, cinema, and even a nature reserve!
